2 & 3 John follow the larger 1 John with much the same advice and exhortation. Love the Brethren and Keep the Commandments. It is almost unfathomable that anyone could read his Epistles and think the commandments were done away at the cross. John shows us clearly that the commandments are for today, but that salvation itself will be awarded through Faith. That Faith, that the Bible speaks of, is always followed by action so working together it is perfect faith.
