The 8 Principles of Hannukah ()
Tom Eubank, December 8, 2018Part of the Individual Studies series, taught at a Shabbat Service service
Hannukah? Why celebrate a festival not commanded in Torah?
While it is not commanded we are NOT in error if we choose to celebrate it. We must be careful not to instruct others they MUST celebrate it as that would be a violation of Torah.
But the Scriptures clearly show that Yahshua went up to Jerusalem for the Feast of Hannukah. See John 8-10. It is yet another in the long list of times where YHVH saved his people, both Israel and Judah and we choose to celebrate it without making it a "Kosher Christmas" so to speak. Let's delve into the story to see what we can learn from a book (Maccabees) that was in all of our Bibles till 1890 and is still in many Bibles worldwide today.
